Many young men from Gulf nations often marry women from South Asian countries. Similarly, finding a life partner from a different country is no longer an unusual event globally. Often, love stories succeed even by crossing the borders and boundaries of rival nations. However, according to a recently surfaced report, a Gulf country has advised its citizens not to marry women from four specific countries.

Saudi Arabia has reportedly issued a directive advising its male citizens not to marry women from Pakistan, Bangladesh, Chad, and Myanmar. The Pakistani news outlet Dawn reported this, citing Saudi media sources. Currently, around 500,000 women from these four countries are said to be residing in Saudi Arabia.

According to the Dawn report, Major General Assaf Al-Qurashi, Director of Mecca Police, stated that Saudi men wishing to marry foreign women now face strict restrictions. The regulations have been tightened to discourage Saudi men from marrying women from other countries. As part of this, the procedures for marrying foreign women have become more stringent.

At present, Saudi men are only allowed to marry women from these countries if they have been divorced for at least six months. Additionally, the applicant must be at least 25 years old, according to the report.
