SANA: Abdul Fattah Mahdi, brother of murdered Talal, said that neither Kanthapuram A P Aboobacker Musliyar nor Sheikh Habib Umar's office has approached him for mediation in connection with the release of Nimisha Priya, a Malayali nurse sentenced to death in Yemen. He wrote on Facebook that they are not ready for any kind of mediation talks.

Fattah said in his post that Islam is the religion of truth and that lies should not be spread. He clarified that he will not cooperate with mediation efforts and that only justice is needed. We are not afraid of anyone. This is our blood, our right. There is no room for provocation and distorting the truth, he said. Mahdi's post included screenshots of news on Malayalam channels.

Talal's brother had stepped forward the other day demanding a new date for Nimisha Priya's execution. Meantime, Kanthapuram had earlier said that some people tried to take credit for the postponement of her execution and that they don’t want the credit. Kanthapuram said this at the Palakkad SSF Literary Festival. Kanthapuram said that he only performed his duty without taking credit. He added that it is not his job to force religious conversions. If a person is killed, the families have the right to forgive. He said that they can forgive without accepting anything or by paying money.
