ISLAMABAD: Pakistan said the US used them and then discarded it like a piece of toilet paper. Pakistan's Defence Minister Khawaja Asif, speaking in the national assembly of Pakistan, alleged that the US used them for strategic interests’ and then discarded it like a piece of toilet paper. Asif admitted that Pakistan often denies its history of terrorism, saying that it was the fault of previous dictators. The Pakistani Defence Minister pointed that Pakistan's involvement in the two Afghan wars was wrong.
‘The US relationship after 1999 caused major damages to the country. Especially the restructuring with the US after September 11, 2001 was disastrous. Pakistan was treated worse than a piece of toilet paper. It used it for its needs and then threw it away.
After 2001, Pakistan again allied with the US in the US-led Afghan war. This led to a conflict with the Taliban. Although the US eventually withdrew from the region, Pakistan was struggling with long-term violence, terrorism, and economic pressure. Pakistanis were sent to fight in the name of jihad. This led to misunderstandings and huge losses. We are denying history and not accepting mistakes. Terrorism in the country became strong due to the mistakes made by dictators in the past. The losses suffered cannot be compensated. Pakistan's mistakes cannot be corrected,' he said.
