KABUL: At least 400 people have been killed and more than 250 injured in a Pakistani airstrike on a hospital in Kabul, said a Taliban spokesman. The incident happened at around 9 pm last night. A large part of the 2,000-bed hospital was destroyed, said Hamdullah Fitrat, the deputy government spokesman for Afghanistan said. Meantime, Pakistan has denied Afghan government's allegations. Pakistan has clarified that the allegations are baseless and that no hospital in Kabul was targeted.
‘The Pakistani military regime has once again violated Afghan airspace. The attack targeted a drug rehabilitation hospital in Kabul. It resulted in the death and injury of many drug addicts undergoing treatment. We strongly condemn the crime. Such an act is against all accepted principles. It is also considered a crime against humanity,' Afghan government spokesperson Zabihullah Mujahid said on social media.
However, Pakistani’s Information Minister Attaullah Tarar said that the Pakistani military had carried out airstrikes targeting military installations in Kabul and the eastern province of Nangarhar. The fighting between the two countries intensified after several civilians were killed in Pakistani airstrikes in Afghanistan in late February.
