Fire breaks out at Dhaka airport; services temporarily suspended

DHAKA: Flight operations have been temporarily suspended after a fire broke out at Dhaka airport. The fire broke out in the cargo section of Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport in Bangladesh's capital, Dhaka. 28 fire units rushed to the spot and carried out rescue operations. Authorities said the fire has been brought under control.

Smoke was seen rising from near gate number 8 at around 2:30 pm today, and the fire later spread. Authorities said the planes were safe. The military also came to help bring the fire under control. Authorities said there were no casualties or major damage. Authorities said an investigation into the fire is underway. The cause is unclear.
