
DHAKA: Former Bangladesh Prime Minister Begum Khaleda Zia passed away. She was 80. She was the first female Prime Minister of Bangladesh. She was the chairperson of Bangladesh Nationalist Party (BNP). She passed away at 6 am on Tuesday. She had been undergoing treatment at Evercare Hospital in Dhaka for a long time due to illness. Khaleda Zia was admitted to the hospital on November 23 with infections in her heart and lungs. She was also suffering from pneumonia.
Khaleda Zia had been battling several health problems for a long time, including liver cirrhosis, arthritis, diabetes and chronic issues affecting her kidneys, lungs heart and eyes. Experts from Bangladesh, UK, US, China and Australia were monitoring her treatment. Earlier this month, attempts were made to take her abroad for treatment, but due to her deteriorating health, she could not be shifted.
