GAZA CITY: Hamas has promised to put the weapons down as part of the ceasefire. The politburo member of the organization, Basem Naim, informed about this. Hamas made the crucial announcement just before entering the second phase of peace discussions between Hamas and Israel on the initiative of the US.
‘We are ready for a comprehensive approach to avoid more clashes and conflicts.’ Naim said in Doha. Naim justified that the Hamas attack on Israel October 7, 2023 was a defensive strike. They demanded that Israeli forces back off from the Hamas-controlled provinces.
Senior Hamas leader, Basem Naim said that there is more clarity that should be attained on many things in the second phase of the peace treaty made by the initiatives of America. ‘We welcome the UN force near the border to supervise the ceasefire agreement, to report about the violations and to prevent conflicts’, he clarified.
The response of Basem Naim came after the declaration of Benjamin Netanyahu on formulating the final draft of the peace treaty after meeting the US president Donald Trump by the end of this month. It is not clear whether Israel is satisfied with the statement of Naim. Hamas is continuing with a stand that they have the right to defend.
America has prepared a peace treaty which gives freedom to Palestine. However, Benjamin Netanyahu rejected this. He considers giving Palestine will be a gift to Hamas. Israel has considered the yellow line at Gaza as their new border. Israeli forces have clarified that in more 53% of places in Gaza they have influence.
