NEW DELHI: The ban on Indian flights entering Pakistan's airspace has been extended till August 24. The Pakistan Airports Authority (PAA) announced this on July 18. The restriction applies to all aircraft owned by Indian airlines, including civilian and military aircraft. The Pakistani restriction began on April 24.
The ban is expected to remain in effect until 5:19 am on August 24. Pakistani flights are banned from Indian airspace until July 24 following the April 22 terror attack in Pahalgam that killed 26 people.
Pakistan's airspace closure has resulted in Indian flights having to travel further to operate international services and increased operating costs for airlines, which has been a setback for air travellers. The restrictions are part of a counter-offensive by both countries.
