TEL AVIV: Iran has launched a retaliatory missile attack on Israel, sharply escalating tensions in West Asia. The Israel Defense Forces confirmed the attack. International media reported that air-raid sirens sounded across various parts of the country, and residents were instructed to move to safe shelters. Reports indicate that more than 75 missiles were fired from Iran towards Israel.
As in previous instances, Iran reportedly launched multiple missiles simultaneously in coordinated barrages. The Israeli Air Force and the country’s air defense system, Iron Dome, have been actively intercepting the incoming missiles mid-air. Meanwhile, the Interior Ministry of Qatar urged the public not to believe rumors and to rely only on official sources, stating that there is no need for panic.
The Iranian retaliation follows an Israeli missile strike in Tehran, the capital of Iran. The explosion reportedly occurred near the office of Iran’s Supreme Leader, Ali Khamenei. Following the escalation, India’s Ministry of External Affairs has advised Indians in Israel to exercise caution and strictly follow safety instructions.
