COLOMBO: Cyclone Ditwah has devastated Sri Lanka, inflicting a major crisis in the country. Many countries came forward providing humanitarian aid for the cyclone-hit Lanka. However, it required Pakistan to ignite a controversy from the lot. The relief supplies sent by Pakistan in the name of humanitarian aid were found to be outdated, leaving the country embarrassed once again.
The incident came to the attention of the world when the Pakistani Embassy in Colombo posted a picture of these supplies on its official social media page.
'Relief aid has been sent from Pakistan to help our sisters and brothers who are suffering from the recent floods in Sri Lanka. This proves that we are all one,' the embassy's post read.
However, the expiry date of the products was clearly visible in the photo shared by the embassy itself. The shelf life of the products packed in 2022 is stated to be up to 2024. The goods sent by Pakistan the other day are more than a year past their expiry date.

A huge lapse is said to have been committed by Pakistan. There has been no official response from Sri Lanka about the incident.
