GUYANA: 11 women have come forward with a sexual harassment complaint against a West Indies cricket star. The complaint alleges that the cricketer sexually abused them. One of the complainants is reported to be a teenager. The name of the player has not been released. Meanwhile, it is reported that the player is a member of part of the current national team setup.
The complaint was first reported by a Guyana-based daily newspaper. The complaint was filed by individuals based in Guyana. The Cricket West Indies chairman responded that he had not been aware of such an incident and would respond after an investigation.
The lawyer for one of the victims stated that a complaint had been filed against the cricketer two years ago. The lawyer alleged that a detailed investigation was conducted at that time, but no further action was taken. He added that the player was part of the West Indies squad that famously beat Australia at the Gabba in Brisbane in January 2024
