ISLAMABAD: Five Pakistani soldiers and 25 terrorists were killed amid peace talks between Pakistan and Afghanistan. Pakistan has confirmed the death of five soldiers. Pakistan said Taliban terrorists tried to infiltrate into Kurram district and North Waziristan district, which are adjacent to its border, and that soldiers lost their lives while trying to stop them.
The attack came after peace talks between the two countries were held at Istanbul in Turkey. The Pakistani army said that the Taliban's incursion was to question 'terrorism emanating from its own soil'. However, the Taliban has not confirmed that they have clashed with Pakistan again. However, the Taliban has accused Pakistan of constantly trying to undermine Afghan sovereignty through airstrikes.
Since the beginning of this month, several people have been killed in direct attacks by the two countries. With this, Qatar and Turkey have tried to mediate peace talks between the two countries. As part of this, the leaders of the two countries met in Istanbul on Saturday for talks. Pakistani Defense Minister Khawaja Asif warned that if the decision in the Istanbul talks fails, it will go to a full-scale war with Afghanistan.
