HYDERABAD: Opal Suchata Chuangsri from Thailand has been crowned Miss World. She won the prestigious title by surpassing 108 other contestants in the competition. Miss Ethiopia secured the first runner-up position, followed by Miss Poland in third place and Miss Martinique in fourth. Indian contestant Nandini Gupta did not make it to the top eight. Suchata is a student of International Relations and a professional model.
Last year's Miss World, Krystyna Pyszkova, passed on the crown to Suchata. The 72nd edition of the Miss World pageant was held at the HITEX Exhibition Centre in Hyderabad at around 6:30 p.m. This marks the second consecutive year that the Miss World contest has been hosted in India.
Former Miss World Manushi Chhillar, actor Rana Daggubati, and actress Namrata Shirodkar were among the dignitaries present at the event. The ceremony also featured cultural performances by Jacqueline Fernandez and Ishaan Khatter. The event began on May 7, with 108 participants competing through various stages, and the final round featured the top 40 qualifiers.
