ISLAMABAD: Pakistan Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has said that the US-Iran war has affected Pakistan's economic progress. Sharif said that they are making efforts to ease the war and restore peace in the West Asia. He clarified this at the cabinet meeting convened yesterday.
‘Pakistan's oil import bill was $300 million before the US-Iran conflict. However, after the conflict, it has increased to $800 million. This is putting additional pressure on the economy. A task force is monitoring the situation daily. Collective efforts are needed to meet the challenges. US-Iran talks are progressing. Pakistan has made sincere efforts to resolve the issue. The talks between Iran and the US in Islamabad on April 11 lasted 21 hours. It is a major diplomatic turning point. It is expected that the conflict will end soon,' said Shehbaz Sharif.
Meantime, US President Donald Trump has warned that if Iran does not make a decision soon on the nuclear deal, the game will change. Trump, who posted a picture of his AI standing on the battlefield with a rifle on social media, accused Iran of not knowing how to sign the nuclear deal and that they do not have the capacity to work together right now. Trump added that Iran better act wisely as soon as possible. Trump's post was captioned, 'No more politeness.'
