TEHRAN: Iran has responded to remarks made by US President Donald Trump about ending the war. Iran said it will decide when the military actions against the United States and Israel will end. Iran also stated that the current equations and the future of the region are now in the hands of the forces in Tehran. The statement was made by the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC). The response came after Trump said the conflict involving Iran would end soon.
Trump had earlier said that the war against Iran would be short. However, he warned that the fighting could intensify if Iran disrupts global oil supplies. He also said recently that he was not happy about Mojtaba Khamenei being declared Iran’s supreme leader. Trump claimed that the United States had dealt a heavy blow to Iran and weakened its capabilities. At the same time, US Defence Secretary Pete Hegseth said the military mission against Iran is moving forward as planned and that Iran should surrender.
Meanwhile, Mojtaba is currently staying at a secret location due to assassination threats from Israel and the United States. After assuming leadership, he has not yet addressed the nation on television. There is also growing discussion within Iran that Mojtaba is “more dangerous” than his father, Ali Khamenei. After Mojtaba was chosen, supporters of Khamenei celebrated in Tehran. Videos of protests and celebrations have also been circulating on social media.
