X, ChatGPT services completely down; users left frantic

NEW DELHI: Several websites, including X and ChatGPT, faced a global outage on Tuesday. The issue has continued for almost four hours without a fix. Many websites that rely on Cloudflare’s internet infrastructure also reported similar problems.

According to Downdetector, services like Amazon Web Services, OpenAI, and Cloudflare were among those affected. Around 5:20 p.m., more than ten thousand users reported disruptions. Users faced issues with feeds, logging in, and server connectivity. Those trying to access X saw the message: “Something went wrong, try reloading.” Cloudflare said they are working to fully resolve the problem.

However, the exact cause of the outage is still unknown. A few weeks ago, several major platforms using Amazon’s cloud servers went down due to a failure in AWS. At that time, Elon Musk had claimed it was the result of a strong cyberattack. It is not yet clear whether a similar attack is responsible for today’s outage.
