Student nun's death at convent: Drowning was the cause, says initial post-mortem report

THIRUVALLA: The cause of death of Divya P Johnny, a nun student of Thiruvalla Paliakkara Beselian Convent, was drowning, the initial post-mortem report has said.

The post-mortem was conducted under the supervision of two expert forensic surgeons at Kottayam Medical College.

“No unnatural cause of death could be found during the post-mortem. There was no signs of physical assault or tussle on the body. There was only a small wound on her and it is inferred as one caused at the time falling into the well.

Mullappally Chungappara ThadathelMalayil Pallikkaparambil John Philipose’ daughter Divya P John was found dead inside the well of the convent where she was studying to become a nun.

The body was inside the well that was attached to the main building.

Meanwhile, the State Women’s Commission has sought a report from Pathanamthitta SP over the death of Divya.
