THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Kerala Water Authority said water supply will not be disrupted as pumping has resumed in Aruvikkara. The authorities said repairs to the air valve in the 86 MLD water treatment plant of Aruvikkara were completed within an hour and pumping has been resumed.

Pumping was stopped for only half an hour for maintenance, so there was no significant water supply disruption. The water authority also stated that water will be supplied as usual to all places from 86 MLD water treatment plant.

It was earlier announced that water supply will be disrupted in around 101 places in the capital city today. The notice said that the water supply would be disrupted from 10 am to 6 pm due to maintenance work being carried out at the water treatment plant at Aruvikkara.

The residents of the capital have been suffering from frequent water disruptions for a few days now. There was a huge protest due to the suspension of drinking water for six days due to the construction of the pipeline in Nagercoil in connection with the doubling of the railway line.
