Asian Champions Trophy: India clinches hockey crown, defeats China

NEW DELHI: India emerged as the Asian Champions Trophy winners, with a 1-0 win over China in the final. India scored the winning goal in the fourth quarter, breaking the goalless deadlock of the first three quarters. Jugraj Singh netted the decisive goal, securing India's fifth Asian Champions Trophy title.

The first quarter ended goalless. Although India regained momentum in the second quarter, they failed to breach China's defence. The second quarter also remained goalless. Both teams had several opportunities in the third quarter but neither were able to score a goal.

India launched a fierce attack in the fourth quarter, seeking victory, and finally took the lead in the 51st minute through Jugraj Singh's decisive goal. As India's defence successfully repelled China's desperate attempts to equalize, the team secured a thrilling victory and lifted the championship trophy.
