THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: The attack on the Christmas carol group in Puthussery, Palakkad, is unfortunate, said the Major Archbishop of the Malankara Catholic Church, Cardinal Mar Baselios Cleemis Catholicos.

“Such trends are unacceptable. It is not right to justify when attacks get repeated. Some are working on ways to water down the issues and save the perpetrators. The church demands that strong action be taken.

Many are trying to take away the sheen of Christmas. No one but Jesus can do that. They can torture and intimidate us. We must stay united and show courage,” said Cardinal Mar Baselios Cleemis Catholicos.

There is a strong protest against the repeated attacks on Christians in various parts of the country. The CBCI has written a letter to the Union Home Minister demanding strong action in this regard.
