'Accused of stealing Rs 500, Sixth-grader hung upside down'; Complaint filed against Kollam institution

KOLLAM: In an unsettling incident, a complaint reached police that a sixth-grade student in Punalur was hung upside down as part of punishment. The complaint is against Living, an institution where children study. The complaint also states that the warden and cook tried to hang the student upside down after accusing him of stealing Rs 500. The 12-year-old revealed this when his mother came to pick him up. The Punalur police registered a case in the incident, taking the child's statement. The cook and the warden have been taken into custody in the case.
