'Acted in serials for 15 years, paid only Rs 3000, finally became a delivery girl'; actress reveals

Kavitha Lakshmi is familiar to the Malayali audience through many serials. She is currently not active in serials and is working as a delivery girl in Chennai. The videos and photos of her working as a delivery girl had gone viral on social media before.
She aims to raise funds for her daughter’s education. Earlier, she had taken a break from acting and started a food stall to make money for her son’s education. Now, to fund her daughter’s education, she has become a delivery girl. Through this, she makes Rs 14,000 a week and pays the loan and her daughter's fees.
'In between, I had done a few films. Acted in serials for fifteen years. However, the salary was only around Rs 3000-3500. The crew members said that I can act if I'm good with this payment. Since I had to buy my own dresses and footwear for the serials, that amount wasn’t enough for me. That’s how I became a delivery girl', she said. Kavitha shares her news through social media. She has around fifty thousand followers on Instagram.
