MALAPPURAM: The missing number plate of Kolakkadan Pulikkal Ashraf, a resident of CK Nagar in Tirurangadi's Chemmadu, was found by an AI camera. After stopping his bullet bike KL 55 Y 5003 at Chemmad Bypass, Ashraf went on a journey with his friends at 7 pm last Monday. But when he returned to the bypass the next morning, the rear number plate of the bike and the petrol in the vehicle were missing. Then, at 11.30 am on Thursday morning, Ashraf received a message from the traffic police at Aroor in Alappuzha asking him to pay a fine of Rs 500.

The reason for the fine was that the pillion rider was not wearing a helmet. But after an online probe, the number plate was found missing on an yellow-coloured TVS Apache bike. A complaint was immediately lodged with the Tirurangadi Police and the Joint RTO. Ashraf has also lodged a complaint with the Alappuzha Traffic Unit through WhatsApp.
