Kamal Haasan - Mani Ratnam's film Thug Life collected 47.2 crores in India so far in 14 days since its release, according to a report. This is deemed a disaster at the box office as the film was made purportedly on a budget of Rs 200 crores.

Although collecting Rs 15.5 crores on first day, the much-anticipated movie stumbled from the second day owing to negative reviews and couldn’t make a comeback. The collection of the movie is lower than Kamal Haasan’s Indian 2, Suriya's Kangua, and Ram Charan's Game Changer.

‘Thug Life’ collected 41.15 crores from the overseas market. With this, the global collection of the film has reached 96.84 crores. Theatre owners in Tamil Nadu are preparing to demand compensation for the losses they have suffered due to the film's failure. Meanwhile, the OTT deal of Rs 130 crore signed with Netflix is likely to be reviewed. According to the report, there is a possibility of a 25 per cent reduction in the contract amount.
