The blockbuster film 'Friends' of the Vijay-Suriya collaboration is coming back to the theatres. B Vinod Jain is bringing the film back to theatres under the banner of Jaguar Studios on the 25th anniversary of its release. The film, which will be re-released in excellent 4K visual quality and sound, will hit theatres on November 21.
Mukesh, Jayaram, Sreenivasan, Meena, and Divya Unni played the lead roles in 'Friends', directed by Siddique in 1999, which was a hit film in Malayalam. Later, Siddique himself remade this film into Tamil in 2001. Vijay, Suriya, and Ramesh Khanna acted in it. This film, which made a big change in the careers of Suriya and Vijay, was a hit in Tamil as well.
Devayani, Vijayalakshmi, Abhinayashree, Vadivelu, Simran, Charlie, Rajeev, Radha Ravi, Santhana Bharathi, Madan Bob, Saritha, Sathya Priya and others also appeared in important roles in the film. Hy Studioz, which has remastered Malayalam films Devadoothan and Chhota Mumbai, is doing the 4K mastering of Friends.
