Did Mohanlal push S N Swamy aside? veteran screenwriter clarifies

Veteran scriptwriter S N Swamy has responded to social media rumours claiming that actor Mohanlal pushed him aside during the trailer launch event of the film Prathichaya, starring Nivin Pauly and directed by B. Unnikrishnan.

Swamy dismissed the claims as baseless, stating that the visuals circulating online were deliberately edited from a crowded moment as they were leaving the venue. He explained that Mohanlal had politely asked, “Swamy, shall I move ahead?” and that the remark was later misinterpreted and turned into a controversy. Swamy also clarified that Mohanlal’s comment, “You came in between,” was directed at a photographer who stepped in front to take a picture, not at him. He added that Mohanlal even helped him while coming down the steps.

He further noted that in their decades-long association, there has never been even the slightest difference of opinion between them.

Production controller Siddhu Panakkal also reacted to the controversy. He pointed out that if Mohanlal had asked anything, it was likely directed at the YouTubers who had gathered there with cameras. He also clarified that Swamy was not climbing the steps but coming down at the time. Panakkal added that Mohanlal is someone who patiently stands for hours taking photos with thousands of fans, and anyone who has interacted with him would not believe the claims circulating on social media about his behaviour towards Swamy.
