Raghuvaran was an actor who gained fame for his villainous roles in Tamil cinema. His marriage and separation from actress Rohini were also widely discussed in the film industry. He also appeared in Malayalam films. Recently, actor and director Alleppey Ashraf revealed some of the tragic aspects of Raghuvaran's life through his YouTube channel.

"No one in the film industry might be unaware of Raghuvaran's acting talent. Having graduated from the Adyar Film Institute, acting was like a penance for him. Raghuvaran had to endure a lot of ridicule while he was seeking opportunities to act in films. Some people mocked him by saying that since he was six feet one inch tall, it would be difficult to find a suitable heroine for him. He had previously stated that he didn’t enter the film industry for money. Rahuvaran had acted alongside actress Rohini in the film Kakka.

He later joined the theater company Chennai Kings, where the famous Tamil actor Nassar was also performing at the time. Raghuvaran worked with the company for three years. After that, he began getting good roles in Tamil films. His performance in Samsaram Adhu Minsaram gained a lot of attention. However, it was his villainous roles that made him shine even more.

Rajinikanth had a close bond with Raghuvaran. Raghuvaran played the villain in several of Rajinikanth's films. Conversely, he never had the opportunity to collaborate with Kamal Haasan. Some media reports suggested that Raghuvaran was not cast in Kamal Haasan's films as many doubted that he could outshine Kamal in acting. Raghuvaran, who had an interest in philosophy, also began using drugs.

Raghuvaran married Rohini in 1996, and they lived together for eight years. They got separated because of his drug use. Their son had been living with Rohini.

Rohini said that Raghuvaran had come to visit their son just ten days before his death. 'He told me, 'You were like my daughter,' Rohini shared. Raghuvaran passed away on March 19, 2008, due to a heart attack, which was ultimately caused by drug use," Ashraf said.
