Jijo Punnoose is the name written in golden letters in the history of Malayalam films through My Dear Kuttichathan. His friends describe him as the encyclopedia of film technology. After years Jijo’s name was heard with Mohanlal’s directorial debut Barroz. Though there were some controversies over the film, it is heard that the film will be released soon.

T K Rajeev Kumar made his film debut as Jijo's assistant. My Dear Kuttichathan was Rajeev's first film as an assistant director. Jijo later produced Mohanlal’s film Onnu Muthal Poojyam Vare. Rajeev said that he became closer to Mohanlal in this film.

‘Got to know Mohanlal Sir on the sets of Onnu Muthal Poojyam Vare. Until then, had only a far glimpse of the actor. Meeting him at that time was a big experience. He would make me act. I used to read the scenes for him. Jijo and Reghunath Paleri will be nearby. When I read some scenes in certain expressions, Lal Sir will ask me to enact it.

When the shoot extended for some more days, Lal Sir had date issues. He had other commitments. Sir then told me that if he had told him that there are no dates, Jijo would have casted somebody else. Jijo is one who decides that,’ Rajeev said.
