'Hollow words'; Actress Gouri Kishan refuses to accept YouTuber's apology

CHENNAI: Actress Gouri Kishan refused to accept the apology offered by YouTuber RS Karthik for his below-the-belt comment about the actress at a press meet. Gouri pointed out that the apology was offered without taking responsibility or accepting the mistake. Karthik, at a press meet held recently, quizzed the actress on her weight, which led to an altercation between the two.

As the issue caught controversy, Karthik changed his earlier stance and issued an apology to the actress for the distress caused. Karthik said his words were interpreted wrongly, which led to the talks worsening. Gouri now clarified that she would not accept the apology.

Amidst the altercation, the silence of Gouri’s co-star Aditya Madhavan and director Abin Hariharan, who were present at the event, became a big topic of discussion in the film industry. Meanwhile, the Tamil film star association Nadigar Sangam offered support to Gouri in the incident. AMMA, the Malayalam cine actors’ association, also condemned the questions of the YouTuber and announced their support for Gouri.
