'Saw some posts claiming that it would have been better if I played the lead role in Padakkalam instead of Sandeep, but...'

Sandeep Pradeep is a young actor who received widespread praise for his performance in the film Padakkalam. The actor has recently been the subject of social media discussions after several users compared him to fellow actor Madhav Suresh. Now, Madhav Suresh has responded to such comparisons.

In a YouTube interview, Madhav responded to social media posts claiming that he would have been a better fit for the lead role in Padakkalam than Sandeep. He called such comparisons disrespectful to Sandeep Pradeep’s hard work and talent.

“I really liked Sandeep’s performance in Padakkalam,” said Madhav. “I saw two or three Facebook posts saying the character would’ve worked better if I had played it. Personally, I felt these comments undermined Sandeep’s work. People are free to praise or criticise, but comparisons between actors are unfair. I even shared one such post to highlight the issue, but then some users accused me of doing it for PR. Honestly, I was just expressing how much I liked Sandeep’s acting. Praise or criticise—but don’t compare,” he added.

Madhav Suresh is gearing up for the release of his upcoming film Janaki vs State of Kerala, which stars his father, veteran actor Suresh Gopi, in the lead role. The film features Anupama Parameswaran as the female lead and is directed by Praveen Narayanan. Produced by J. Phanindra Kumar under the Cosmos Entertainment banner in association with Karthik Creations, the film also marks Anupama’s comeback to Malayalam cinema. Divya Pillai and Shruti Ramachandran will also appear in prominent roles.
