It was just yesterday that actor Fahadh Faasil opened up about curtly rejecting a role in Oscar-winning director Alejandro González Iñárritu’s movie. Fahadh talked about the incident in an interview given to CUE Studio as part of the promotion of his new film ‘Odum Kuthira Chadum Kuthira’.
"I spoke to him on a video call. What Inarritu couldn't handle was my accent. He said I would have to stay in the US for about four months to fix it, for which I would not be paid. That's why I turned down the opportunity.
If my career goes through any big change, I prefer it to happen in the Malayalam industry. All the magic in my life happened in this industry. If there is any change in my life, I want it to happen here. I don't want to go outside Kerala seeking that magic.” Said Fahadh.
Iñárritu has won the Oscar for Best Director twice in a row for Birdman and The Revenant, making him the third director in history to achieve this feat after John Ford and Joseph L. Mankiewicz. Iñárritu is also the director who helped Leonardo DiCaprio end his Oscar drought.
