Actress Deepika Padukone was dropped from film director Sandeep Reddy Vanga’s ambitious new project 'Spirit' with Prabhas in the lead. It is reported that the director himself made the decision to drop Deepika, over her alleged 'unprofessional behaviour'.
The actress had been away from the film industry for some time after giving birth to her child. Fans were elated when news appeared about Deepika pairing with Prabhas in a Vanga film. Alas, it was short-lived.
Working for only six hours a day, profit sharing from the film, and high remuneration are alleged to be the demands that have now forced Vanga to take the tough decision. Deepika reportedly refused to speak in Telugu and made demands such as working six hours a day, amending her contract, not allowing the shoot to last more than 100 days, and getting extra pay for each additional day of shooting.
The makers have not yet commented on the news.
The shooting of 'Spirit' was delayed due to Deepika's pregnancy, childbirth and Prabhas' injury. The initial decision was to start shooting by the end of 2024. However, it is now reported that the shooting will be postponed to next year.
