'Dheeram', the crime investigation thriller film directed by debutant Jithin T Suresh, starring Indrajith Sukumaran as a police officer, was released on Thursday. Apart from Indrajith, the film also stars Divya Pillai, Aju Varghese, Nishanth Sagar, Renji Panicker, Reba Monica John and Sagar Surya. The film is opening up to mixed reviews from the audience.

A theatre in Kochi, where the movie was playing, witnessed some heated moments today. Actress Divya and the director came inside the theatre at the end of the movie to seek the response of the audience. At this time, a man from the audience left the crew embarrassed after he shouted expletives and remarked that the movie was poorly made.

“This is a very poorly made film. You should not show this nonsense in society that includes women and children. It is my personal opinion. You can take it either way,” he opined.

However, it was also notable that the film's heroine, Divya Pillai, came out in full support of the person’s freedom of speech. Actress Divya Pillai, who immediately understood the situation, intervened and justified the audience's opinion.

The controversy ended when Divya Pillai clarified that the audience has every right to criticise the film. 'There's nothing wrong with saying negative things. The audience watching the film has the right to say, That's okay. We can't demand that everyone should say good things about the movie,' Divya Pillai said.
