Mohanlal's film 'Thudarum' is cruising ahead, breaking records in Mollywood. Barely 24 hours after the release, the movie is already showing signs of surpassing ticket sales of the much-touted big-budget movie ‘Empuraan’, regarded as the highest grosser ever in the Malayalam industry.
More than four lakh tickets were sold within 24 hours, with the movie still topping the BookMyShow app.
On the first day after its release, ‘Empuraan’ had sold nearly three lakh eighty thousand tickets on the online portal BookMyShow. When it comes to ‘Thudarum’, the ticket sales on day 1 have already reached four lakh thirty thousand.
Directed by Tharun Moorthy, the film stars Mohanlal and Shobhana in the lead roles. The iconic duo of Mollywood is reuniting after a hiatus of 19 years. ‘Thudarum’ is a family drama closely similar in genre to Mohanlal’s super hit movie ‘Drishyam’.
