THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Actor Kollam Thulasi is under fire on social media after making a controversial remark while leaving the AMMA elections. Numerous posts, including some offensive ones, have circulated widely. The backlash stems from his statement claiming that “men should always be in charge and women should remain beneath them.”
Kollam Thulasi made the controversial statement at the Marriott Hotel, Edappally, immediately after he voted. When asked whether he believed men should rule, Kollam Thulasi replied, “Men should rule. Women should always stay below them. Isn't this how it should be?”
Meanwhile, a woman has been elected president for the first time in the 31-year history of AMMA. Shwetha Menon is the new president. Women also hold the positions of General Secretary, Vice President, and Joint Secretary. Kukku Parameswaran was elected General Secretary, Lakshmipriya as Vice President, and Ansiba Hassan as Joint Secretary.
