Yesteryear actress Rudra is back

Rudra, who played the role of Alli in the movie ‘Manichitrathazhu, ’ remains a vivid memory among cine lovers. In her short but brilliant career, Rudra made a mark across various industries in the south and soon crossed the ocean to bid adieu to industry and adapt to her new role after marriage.

Years after her hiatus, Rudra is in front of the camera again. She returned to acting with the Tamil series Suzhal: The Vortex Season 2, which started streaming on Amazon Prime Video. Rudra plays the role of Malathi, the wife of Lal's character. Rudra is a Malayali and hails from Kannur. She debuted with veteran director Bharathiraja's film Pudhu Nellu Pudhu Naathu.

She made her Malayalam debut with Mukesh's film Post Box No. 27, directed by Anil. Later, she acted in movies like Aayushkalam, Kauravar, Pidakkozhi Koovunna Noottandu, Pavithram, Butterflies, and Dhruvam. She mostly appeared in supporting roles. In 1996, the Malayalee audience last saw Rudra in the film ‘Kudumbakodathi. ’ Rudra was active in Tamil serials till 2019.
