‘Films are controlled by actors instead of directors and producers'; present situation is pathetic

Director Kamal said the viewers don’t even remember the present films. He also said that the crisis in Malayalam films is pathetic. Directors are not even given a place during film promotions. He shared these things in an interview given to a YouTube channel.

'Earlier, films that flopped were in the minds of the people. Now, no one remembers even the hit films. This is the crisis faced by new directors. Many stars create problems on film sets and that is another crisis. Many directors who made their first film a super hit are waiting for years for his next film. Going after stars is the problem. Many directors are not able to make a personal mark in films.

A film is not known by the name of a director. Everyone talks about the problem of stars. They don’t understand the problem of directors. Only Romancham was a hit among the recently released films. No one talks about the director of that film. Therefore, the existence of directors is important. Directors are not there even at promotional events. The actors coming for promotions do not talk about the film. They say some other things and then it goes viral. Is that the promotion of the film?

Therefore, the producers have no profit. The actors don’t even introduce the director of the film during promotions. A film belongs to the director and the producer. The reason for the crisis is that they do not have control of the film. A film is made depending on a star.
