‘My father is stable and recovering,’ says Esha Deol amid reports of Dharmendra's death

MUMBAI: Amid reports of veteran Bollywood actor and former MP Dharmendra’s death, his daughter and actress Esha Deol came forward saying that the condition of her father is stable and recovering. He is on ventilator at the Mumbai Breach Candy Hospital. He is 89. He has two wives Prakash Kaur and Hema Malini. He has six children including Bollywood actors Sunny Deol, Bobby Deol, Esha Deol.

Her post said, ‘The media seems to be in overdrive and spreading false news. My father is stable and recovering. We request everyone to give our family privacy. Thank you for the prayers for papa's speedy recovery," Esha Deol wrote in her post.

Dharmendra was admitted to the hospital a week ago due to breathing difficulties. He had undergone eye surgery in last April.

Dharmendra’s wife Hema Maline also dismissed reports of his death. She wrote, ‘What is happening is unforgivable! How can responsible channels spread false news about a person who is responding to treatment and is recovering? This is being extremely disrespectful and irresponsible. Please give due respect to the family and is need for privacy.’

He fell ill when his 90th birthday is being celebrated on December 8. He underwent an eye surgery in last April. His last film Ikkis will release on December 25. He is nicknamed the He-Man of Bollywood. Some of his hit films include Sholay, Phool Aur Pathar, Chupke Chupke etc.
