PATNA: The security issues that face solo passengers in train journeys are many. Especially in the case of women, it can be increased. Unexpected situations might pop up very rapidly, even in a peaceful journey. A female passenger has now shared such an experience on social media.

The woman is speaking about how she got stuck inside the toilet due to the sudden rush in the general compartment. The incident happened when the train stopped at the Katihar junction in Bihar. The woman was inside the toilet. As she was about to come out, around 40 men rushed in all of a sudden, resulting in a huge crowd in the compartment. She was stuck inside, unable to come out.

As she was travelling alone, she couldn’t contact anybody for help either. Following that, she contacted the railway helpline number. RPF reached later and helped her to come out. She wrote on social media that the experience was extremely scary and that she stayed inside the toilet as she felt insecure amidst the crowd. She also shared the video that was recorded for safety until the RPF reached there.

The public praised the timely response of the woman and the immediate intervention of the RPF. Many suggested that people must always keep their mobile phones with them for security while travelling alone.
