3000 aspirants applied to become priests in Ram Temple in Ayodhya; interview continues

NEW DELHI: As many as 3000 aspirants have applied for the vacancy of the priests in the Ram temple which is being completed in Ayodhya. Out of the 3000 applicants, 225 candidates were shortlisted and interviewed on the basis of merit. It was the Shri Rama Janmabhoomi Teerth Kshetra Trust that invited applications for the interview of priests.

The interview to select the 20 priests is going on at Karsevakpuram, the headquarters of Vishwa Hindu Parishad in Ayodhya.
The interview is being conducted by a panel consisting of three members. The members of the panel are Jaikant Mishra, Mithilesh Nandini Sharan and Satyanarayana Das.

Those selected in the interview will be given six months of training. After this, they will be appointed as per requirement.

"A monthly honorarium of Rs 2,000 each will also be provided for six months of residential training. Their appointment will be as per requirements, but certificates will be provided to all the trainees," Mahant Govind Dev Giri, Treasurer of Shri Ram Janmabhoomi Teerth Kshetra, said.
