JAUNPUR: A 75-year-old man, who married a 35-year-old woman, died the very next morning. The incident happened in Uttar Pradesh’s Jaunpur. The dead is Sangruram, who married Manbhavati of Jalalpur on September 29.
Sangruram had lost his first wife a year ago and had been living alone since then. The couple did not have children and he engaged himself in farming. He got fed up with his lonely life. He married a woman half his age for a good companionship.
All his relatives opposed his second marriage, but he went ahead and married her on September 29. After registering the marriage in court, he tied the mangalsutra in a nearby temple. This was her second marriage.
She said her husband had asked her to take the responsibility of the house while he would take care of her children. However, he died the next day.
However, the locals alleged mystery in the death. While some termed it as a natural turn of events, others raised suspicion. His relatives are mostly in Delhi and other places. They said the cremation should be after their arrival. They have also demanded a postmortem.
