BENGALURU: New information has surfaced regarding the explosion in an autorickshaw in Mangaluru. It was found that the accused had done a trial run before the blast. This became clear from NIA's questioning of Shariq. A trial was conducted a week before the blast along the Tunga river near Shivamogga.
In connection with Mangaluru blast, the police and NIA are conducting raids at 18 places, including at the relative houses of Shivamogga resident Mohammed Shariq, the main mastermind in the case. The Karnataka Police found that Shariq was also involved in the Coimbatore blast. It was found that the main mastermind of the blast was Madeen Thaha and he conducted the operations from Dubai. He had reached Karnataka two days before the blast in Mangaluru and returned to Dubai soon after.
It was also found that Shariq met Coimbatore blast mastermind Jamesha Mubeen in September. Shariq stayed in a lodge in Tamil Nadu for several days. In the days before the Coimbatore blast, the two had talked through WhatsApp. In Mangaluru, the accused planned a blast similar to the one in Coimbatore. The police is also collecting information about financial transaction to Thaha Shariq and Jamesha from Dubai.
