NEW DELHI: The passengers across the country faced a great crisis as the IndiGo airline services were cancelled during the previous days. The passengers faced a great difficulty after other airlines hiked the ticket rates. Later, the central government intervened and announced the ticket rates. Now, Air India and Air India Express have come forward with relief for the stranded passengers. Both the airlines have said that they have waived the fee for ticket change and cancellation by fixing a limit on flight cost. Air India and Air India Express have fixed the rate limit of nonstop domestic economy class tickets, effective December 4 onwards. The companies also informed that they are completely following the government order.
Around 850 services of IndiGo airlines were cancelled in the previous days, pointing to the lack of pilots, employees and technical mistakes. By taking advantage of the situation, the ticket rate hike imposed by the other airlines also put the passengers in trouble. However, the Centre has intervened in the issue and directed all the airlines to charge only a fixed ticket rate until the conditions get back to normal. Besides, the Centre also asked to resolve the crisis faced by IndiGo.
In order to help the passengers in trouble, Air India and Air India Express have arranged additional seats in all services. The companies also decided to provide an upgradation for the passengers in economy class without additional charge under possible circumstances. The goal is to bring more passengers to their destinations by utilizing all seats. Air India arranged additional services also on major routes.
