Amit Shah attempts to reach out to Vijay; TVK chief expresses no interest in speaking

CHENNAI: Reports claim that Union Home Minister Amit Shah tried to reach out to TVK chief and actor Vijay following the Karur tragedy. Sources indicate that Amit Shah’s office reached out the day after the incident, but Vijay reportedly declined to engage in conversation. Efforts were also made to reach him through his father Chandrasekhar and some people from the film industry, as well as senior leaders of TVK.

Meanwhile, reports say Vijay has temporarily postponed his state tour. According to the TVK secretariat, all public meetings scheduled for the next two weeks have been put on hold. A fresh announcement regarding upcoming events will be made later.

In another development, police have issued a notice to TVK leaders, asking them to produce the full video footage of the Karur event. The notice was sent to joint secretary Nirmal Kumar.
