NEW DELHI: Congress MP Sudha Ramakrishnan has lodged a complaint alleging that her four‑sovereign gold chain was snatched during a morning walk in Delhi. Sudha Ramakrishnan is a Lok Sabha member from Mayiladuthurai in Tamil Nadu. The incident occurred near the Poland Embassy in Chanakyapuri while she was walking with DMK MP Rajathi.
“Around 6:15 to 6:20 in the morning, while I was near gates 3 and 4 of the Poland Embassy, a man wearing a helmet and fully covering his face approached from the opposite direction on a scooter and snatched my gold chain before fleeing,” Sudha Ramakrishnan said. She had come to Delhi to attend the Monsoon Session of Parliament.
She also stated that she was injured when the chain was pulled from her neck. In a letter to Union Home Minister Amit Shah, the MP expressed concern that even a woman parliamentarian cannot walk safely in a high-security zone. She urged the Home Minister to direct the authorities to trace the culprit, recover her gold chain, and take necessary steps to ensure justice.
