Did not serve dinner; husband beheads wife, chops body into pieces

BENGALURU: In a shocking incident, a man beheaded his wife and chopped her body into pieces after she refused to serve him dinner. The shocking incident took place in Hospet village in Tumakuru district in Karnataka. The deceased woman was identified as 32-year-old Pushpa. Police have arrested her husband Shivaram, an employee of a sawmill. The couple, who got married 10 years ago, has an 8-year-old son.

Pushpa's body was found inside the kitchen of the couple's rented house in the village. According to sources, Shivaram used to regularly quarrel with Pushpa after returning from work. The other day, a quarrel broke out between the two over Shivaram's work. After the quarrel, Shivaram asked Pushpa to serve him food. However, she refused to serve the food. Enraged by this, Shivaram took a machete and beheaded his wife. He then chopped her body into pieces. The couple's son was sleeping when the horrific incident took place.

Shivaram, who spent the entire night near the body, informed his house owner about the incident the next morning. It was the house owner who called the police. Following this, the police reached the spot and arrested Shivaram. The body was sent for post-mortem. The preliminary conclusion of the police is that the murder was singlehandedly carried out by Shivaram. The couple's son has been handed over to the relatives.
