CHENNAI: As the Tamil Nadu Assembly election results unfold, actor Vijay’s Tamizhaga Vetri Kazhagam (TVK) has staged a major political upset. In a high-stakes triangular contest involving the DMK, AIADMK, and the BJP alliance, Vijay has emerged as a formidable new political force, with TVK leading in 108 out of the total 234 seats.
Amidst these political developments, actress Trisha Krishnan arrived at Vijay’s residence, sparking curiosity among both political circles and fans. Notably, the visit coincided with Trisha’s 43rd birthday. Earlier today, the actress offered prayers at the Tirumala Venkateswara Temple, footage of which had gone viral on social media. She reportedly headed straight to Vijay’s residence upon returning from Tirupati.
The close friendship between Vijay and Trisha has long been a subject of discussion in the Tamil film industry. Having shared the screen in blockbusters like Ghilli, Thirupaachi, and Leo, they remain a favourite onscreen pair. In recent months, various rumours regarding the duo have circulated on social media, particularly as Vijay’s personal life and divorce rumours became a point of discussion even among his political rivals. Previously, their arrival in the same car for a wedding ceremony in Chennai had also made headlines.
For Vijay, who transitioned from cinema to full-time politics, this election performance marks one of the most significant upsets in Tamil Nadu's political history. In his debut electoral battle, the actor has delivered a performance that has sent ripples through the ruling DMK camp.
