BENGALURU: The branch manager’s cruelty in Bengaluru to his employee who asked for leave due to illness is a topic of discussion on social media. Instead of supporting the employee who informed that he was in severe pain and could not attend work due to health issues, the manager scolded him. A WhatsApp conversation between the employee and the manager over the incident is now going viral on social media.

The employee had informed his manager that he could not attend work due to a medical condition (such as piles/fissures) that was causing him severe pain. He requested medical leave along with the doctor's prescription and a list of medicines. He cannot sit or stand for a long time. The employee first sent a WhatsApp message asking for a medical leave. After not getting a reply, he said that his condition was still not manageable.

However, instead of supporting the employee, the manager scolded him. The manager asked who taught him discipline and said that the employee is not disciplined. Look at the time you asked for leave. The manager added that this would be considered a loss of pay for two days.

The employee apologized and requested to understand his situation. 'Sir, please understand my situation. I am asking for medical leave. I apologize for not informing you.' After the employee apologized, the manager's response became more severe. Who will do your work? The more you run away from responsibility; the more problems will arise.

The employee calmly replied that he was not running away and was only asking for some time to recover. 'I will do it, sir. I am not running away from responsibility. I will complete all the work after returning to the office,' the employee assured.

After the conversation between the manager and the employee went viral on social media, many people came forward against the superior's bad behavior.

'A person's health is more important than anything else. You are not someone's slave just because you are getting paid. If they try to fire you, you have a clear reason to sue and get compensation. Keep all the evidence," one person commented. Some users mocked the manager, saying he needed an English class and a class on human values. Social media also pointed out that such behavior by superiors at work is a reflection of the increasing health problems, anxiety and workload among employees.
