Railways' gift for Diwali: Five special trains announced, two to Kerala and one to Tamil Nadu

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: The Railways has announced five special trains considering the Diwali rush. The services are Bengaluru-Kollam, Bengaluru SMVT - Kollam, Hubli-Mangalore, Yesvantpur-Mangalore, Bengaluru-Thoothukudy etc.

The service from Bangalore to Kollam via K.R. Puram, Salem, Palakkad, Thrissur, Ernakulam, Kottayam, Kayamkulam will depart from Bangalore at 3 pm on the 16th and reach Kollam at 6.20 am the next day. It will return at 10.45 am on the 17th and reach Bangalore at 3.30 am on the 18th.

The special train from Bengaluru SMVT to Kollam at 11 pm on the 21st will arrive in Kollam at 12.55 pm the next day. The return service will be at 5 pm on the 22nd. It will arrive in Bengaluru at 9.45 am the next day.

The service from Hubli to Mangalore via Haveri, Davangere, Tumkur, Yesvantpur, Hassan will depart on the 17th at 4 pm and will reach Mangalore at 11.15 pm the next day. The return service will depart from Mangalore to Yesvantpur at 2.35 pm on the 18th. It will reach Yesvantpur at 11.15 pm the same day.

The train to Mangalore via Hassan will depart from Yesvantpur at 12.15 pm on the 19th and will reach Mangalore at 11.15 pm the next day.

The special train from Bangalore to Thoothukudi via Hosur, Salem, Dindigul and Madurai will depart at 10 pm on the 17th and 21st and reach Thoothukudi at 11 pm the next day. The return service will reach Bangalore Cantonment at 2 pm on the 18th and 22nd. It will reach the Cantonment at 4.15 am.
