NEW DELHI: The Delhi Police have arrested five Bangladeshi nationals who tried to enter the Red Fort illegally. Reports said the arrested are aged between 20-25 years. The police have recovered some documents confirming their Bangladeshi nationality. The police are presently interrogating them. According to the investigating officers, they had been doing various jobs in the city for some time.
Meanwhile, ten Bangladeshi nationals who were illegally staying in Haryana have been arrested. The Gurugram police caught them last Saturday. Documents proving Bangladeshi citizenship were recovered from them. The police said that the arrested will be deported soon.
Meantime, seven Delhi Police officers were reprimanded after a dummy bomb was not found during a security drill at the Red Fort. The action was taken against the policemen deployed for the security of the Red Fort. The incident happened during a mock drill conducted by the Delhi Police as part of the Independence Day celebrations to be held on August 15. As part of the drill, a person in civilian clothes entered the Red Fort premises with a dummy bomb. However, the police personnel deployed for security could not find the bomb. Following this, action was taken against many including head constables and constables.
